Santa Cruz Warhammer - Couple of dedicated gamers to the World!
When our Servitor delivered the email I was thrilled... a guy wrote regarding some images of the Ork Dreadnought we have on the PaperHammer 40 section. Not only he informed me that he is the builder, but I got a link to the original site. I maybe re-discovering water, but this was a HUGE treasure load! The guy's name is Mike; and with his buddy John they run Santa Cruz Warhammer blog.
This place is amazing! It has been running since November 2007. While I personally I do not like the blog-style website (I know people who simply love it!), the amount of content is superb. Well, more than the amount of content, it is the QUALITY! While it is not quite Bells of Lost Souls, it will someday get there.
They have lots of great articles, conversion & painting guides about our hobby. At the moment they seem to focus on Orks and Chaos Marines. I personally like that it shows the guys dedication to the hobby. Here are some links to some entries:
- Scratch-built Ork Stompa: A bottle of juice have never been so deadly. A must have for those Apocalyptic Warbosses!
- Scratch-built Ork Dreadnought 'Def Dred': Step by step account of the Ork Dreadnought image we feature in our PaperHammer40k article. If you thought that that pic was impressive, wait until you read the guide. Pictures are of a superb quality, only surpassed by the model's construction.
- Scratch-built Space Marine Drop Pod: The templates provided on the PaperHammer 40k article are a good way to start... but they are showcasing a complete guide on how to build one! With the new plastic Drop Pod coming in October, this is a perfect way to make yours stand out!
- Nurgle Demon Prince Conversion: Well... here at The Golden Bolter Society we have some (traitors) who love their Demons! This is a very nice conversion for a Nurgle Demon Prince. Nice pictures... and yes, soon I will post Dblahag's Demons... meanwhile enjoy this one!
- Ork Warboss Conversion: Ork Players maybe many things... but afraid of scratch-building and customization they are not! This is a good example for anyone of what you can do to personalize your HQs!
